Emmanuel College Consolidates Print and Mail Centers
Achieves cost savings while creating a “one-stop shop” for campus community
Challenge
Emmanuel College wanted an outsourced copy center solution that would be financially beneficial for the College; the College also wanted more engagement from the company providing the outsourced services.
Solution
Emmanuel College contracted with Collegiate Press to manage the campus Copy Center in 2007. As part of its initial assessment, Collegiate Press management proposed that the College should consolidate two spaces and move to a single service center for mail and print.
The College implemented this proposed idea during a planned renovation phase and achieved cost savings in staffing and efficiencies in servicing faculty, staff and students. Emmanuel then expanded Collegiate Press’ role to include management of the campus mail center. As part of its services, Collegiate Press cross-trained staff in both copy and mail services, and as a result, created a single-stop shopping for the campus community.
“The Collegiate Press management reports provide me with the detail that I need for for controlling costs,” says Paula Connolly, Associate VP of Finance/Controller. “They provide me with monthly cost allocation reports so that printing and mail services can be expensed to each department.
“We are very happy with the service provided by Collegiate Press,” she adds. “The management team is very reliable and efficient. They have placed capable, service oriented team members on campus. They are well known by all, and well liked. They are part of the Emmanuel family.”
